2006 Program Handbook
Family Health, Hearing and Safety is a Grange program designed to help members and non-members understand the invisible handicap known as deafness, as well as educate on ways to keep your families safe and healthy. It is a program that reaches hundreds of deaf and hard- of-hearing people in all walks of life in the state of Washington.
The department of Deaf Awareness Activities has three goals. They are: To educate the public about deafness; assist those who are hearing impaired; and promote hearing protection.
Annually, more than $2,500 is used to purchase educational materials and equipment which is donated to service centers, churches and schools for the hearing impaired of our state. This money comes from contributions from Grangers and Granges in our state.
