Join us . . .
Dear Friends: The Washington State Grange is proud to be the People's Voice of Washington. It is something we are proud of, and a responsibility we don't take lightly. The Grange has been a respected voice for the average citizen for more than 100 years. Presidents, Governors, Legislators and all manner of officials continually turn to the Grange for guidance on issues ranging from agriculture to education, health care and elections. When the Grange talks about the importance of improving the quality of life for every Washington citizen, we are heard. The strength of the Grange lies in its membership. Grange policy is set from the local level up; members of Community (Subordinate) Granges draft resolutions, which are presented to the delegate body at our annual convention. If approved by the delegates, it becomes part of the Washington State Grange's agenda. This is a unique way to do business, and the Grange has been doing it since two months before the Washington Territories gained statehood. It gives each and every Grange member a direct voice to policy makers in their own communities, statewide and nationally. The Grange is all about community. Grange halls are the hub of the community, a place where members and non-members alike can meet to discuss the issues important to them. It's where all Grange activities begin. It's not all work. Grange members like to have fun. There are dozens of activities that not only benefit communities, but also involve the entire family. Where else do you find a place where the entire family can participate? If you're looking for that community spirit, that sense of belonging and really making a difference, the Grange is for you. Our doors are wide open, join us today! Fraternally, Rob Horgen , President, Washington State Grange |
